Game History
This is a rough summary of the game thus far.
Start
Lief Haven and Martin Davis arrive at Kennedy High to their dorms, a handful of days before the semester starts. Lief's parents do not see him off to the dorm, as they live relatively locally. Martin's parents say goodbye to him in the dorm, his mother insisting that he never talk to any girls.
The two quickly hit it off, and play Super Smash Bros Melee for some time.
Eventually, they are brought to orientation, and their soon to be homeroom, where they meet their homeroom teacher, Mrs Anderson, as well the other members of their team, Mercedes Meyers and Lewis Lee. Mercedes questions her being put on a team of boys, but is told that due to uneven numbers, this had to happen.
The team members all introduce themselves to eachother, and are eventually sent to their team dorm. There they socialize some, before Mercedes kicked everyone's butts in Smash Bros.
That weekend, PlayerTeam was called into Gabriel Simmons' office, as Mercedes had assaulted multiple classmates that weekend. As it turned out, a group of girls harrassed her about being put on a team of boys, and Mercedes attacked them in retaliation. Since the year hadn't started, and no powers were used, he was willing to overlook this, but did put the whole team on notice. Especially Martin, due to Martin's record.
School Year Starts
Some time passed, and the school year started. The team met John Battle, their gym teacher. The team would elect to join the "Super Hero Track" of the school.
Martin Davis joined the football team. At some point he was accosted by Mason Thomas, the boyfriend of Kayla Sullivan, who was one of the girls who Mercedes had fought.
Not long thereafter, PlayerTeam were put into a sparring match against Mason's team, BullyTeam. This sparring session very quickly turned into a real match, and was not stopped despite multiple injuries incurred by BullyTeam. The incident lead to Mason and his team being removed from the same class, as well as Mason's removal from the football team. It also netted PlayerTeam a couple days off from school.
Going into the Halloween season, PlayerTeam participated in a costume design and creation contest, where they created their superhero costumes.
The weekend before Halloween, PlayerTeam attended a school dance. At the dance, Martin Davis went around looking for drugs, and found a fellow student selling drugs in the bathroom, and kept bothering him. Martin wasn't trying to buy drugs, nor stop the kid from selling them, but instead just bothered the dude. Eventually, he brought up the drug dealer to his team, and Lewis Lee went and punched the man in the face, and got Gabriel Simmons to drag the kid away. Mercedes mostly danced at the dance.
On Halloween night, PlayerTeam went out trick or treating. At some point, they were attacked by a group of 10 or so local kids, who felt that the construction of Kennedy High took funding away from their school. PlayerTeam managed to defeat them without using their powers, even when one of the local kids pulled a gun on them. The police were called, and the situation was handled.
Later that same night, PlayerTeam spoke to a man in a sewer grate. He told them he had been trapped in their for over 80 years, and that a witch put a curse on him. The kids eventually got creeped out by him, and when they began to leave, the man broke through the sewer grate and revealed himself to be Consumption, a large centipede centaur like being. They called their coach, John Battle, and the police. John Battle arrived just as they were defeating the being. John Battle told them that hopefully the being would get the help he needed.
November 2002
Martin Davis celebrated his birthday, turning 15, and had a party in his team dorm, where people ate wings and played Super Smash Bros Melee. Consumption also stopped by, now just a normal man, and thanked Martin for helping free him from the curse put onto him by a witch over 80 years ago. Martin was creeped out, as the man still had grey skin, and was abnormally long limbed.
Football season ends, and Martins team does really well overall.
PlayerTeam participated and won the 2002 Turkey Tournament. There, they fought Gods Chosen.
Near Thanksgiving, Lewis Lee found out that he would have to return to his home, somewhere in Asia. The team all went over Mercedes' house in eastern Mass, and hung out for the days before he had to go off. They said their goodbyes, and he went on his way.
Jack Arrives
The following week, the team met their new member, Jack Judah, a ward of the state transfer to the school from South Carolina. He gelled with the team fairly quickly, pushing them a bit away from their more square natures(or really, Martin and Lief's nature). He also met his roommate, Lewis Lee's former roommate, Scott Schlift, and introduced him to the team.
With Schlift's help, PlayerTeam broke into the main office of the school for some reason. They looked at various student files, mostly their own. Nothing really came of this, but I think they went and threw cafeteria trays off a roof either before or after this.
Jack Judah attempted to buy some weed, and finds himself talking to Mason Thomas. Mason Thomas after arguing with Jack for sometime, eventually tells him to tell PlayerTeam to meet his team out in one of the school's fields to fight. Jack tells his team, and they go and tell Coach Battle. He tells them that they should just go and fight the battle, as Mason's not about to go away right now, and that he will have their back and they won't get suspended for improper use of their powers.
PlayerTeam confronts BullyTeam in a field. During the fight, Mercedes almost dies due to Jack accidentally hitting her with his lightning. Lief brings her back up, but takes the damage she has taken, and lays dying on the ground. He eventually dies as he does not recieve proper medical attention during the remainder of the fight. PlayerTeam manages to defeat BullyTeam, and Coach Battle shows up, and instructs the kids on what to say to the cops. Mercedes steals weed from Mason's unconscious body, and slips it into Jack's jacket. Mason and his teammates are arrested. Since he will self revive, Martin brings Lief's dead body to their dorm, and puts him in his bed.
Martin, Jack and Mercedes then smoke the weed ontop of the dormitory.
Sometime later, Lief finds that Mason was never charged with anything, but was removed from Kennedy High. He was possibly transfered to another school. He advocated in court to lessen the sentence of the 3 members of BullyTeam being charged for the incident.
Mercedes birthday was celebrated, turning 14. Her friend Jennifer Heart showed up. Jack got her number. They all smoked pot on the roof of a buidling.
Christmas break happens.
2003 begins
After Christmas break, the local preliminaries of the 2003 SPSS Tournament began. Due to an issue with William King High's gymnasium not being fully constructed by the time of the tournament, it was decided that their preliminary tournament would be merged with the closest school's, which was Massachusetts' Kennedy High. It was announced, much to the anger of school officials that this combined tournament would only see the top three teams from the tournament progress to the next stage later in the year.
PlayerTeam would place first, followed by their fellow Mass team, Team To Be Decided. In third was the maine team Losers First.
PlayerTeam, Team To Be Decided, Jennifer, and Schlift would all attend the junior year preliminaries at Roosevelt High in order to watch Sage's matches. Sage and her team placed within the top 6 of her grade, and thusly will be going to nationals as well.
While going to stores in Times Square, PlayerTeam was attacked by Dubyas Fist. The fight was broken up due to Dubya's Fist being incredibly outnumbered.
Near the start of February, Coach Battle asked PlayerTeam to investigate the White Hill Club in upper Vermont.
PlayerTeam is flown into a town adjacent to where the White Hill Club is located. They depart from the small private plan, and catch a cab to their [motel]. They talk to the cab driver some. The cab driver has a son who went to juvy, and tells Martin not to push aside his past, but push forth in spite of it. He also mentions the White Hill Club often has black vans or SUVs pick people up from the airport.
They have two motel rooms. Thanks to Martin having a fake ID from his time as a young criminal, they have no trouble at the front desk. Mercedes and Jack elect to share one, while Martin and Lief share the other. They decide to go to a diner nearby and eat some food. They talk with their waitress, Tabitha, who mentions the people who run the White Hill Club are very nice and have helped the town overall.
PlayerTeam heads to a small arcade in town, and schmoozes with the local teenagers. They play some pool. Martin and Lief keep playing at the claw machines. Lief wins a pikachu plushie for Jack, a furret plushie for Mercedes, and a chickoritta for himself. Martins wins a cyndiquil for himself.
Martin, Lief, and Jack go and flirt and play pool with some girls their age in an attempt to garner some information about the White Hill Club. They learn the club generally has been active mostly in the last two years or so, although it did exist before then. They generally manage to be able to say that the girls invited them to the get together.
Martin and Lief went back to the claw machines trying to win prizes for the girls, while Jack and Mercedes went back to their hotel room. They talked a bit.
After them both winning prizes for the girls, Martin made out with [Lily Foster] some, while Lief was invited to go home with [Mia Johnson].
Martin went back to the motel room, and hung out with Jack and Mercedes a bit before going back to his room. Lief had sex.
Early the following morning, Lief snuck back to the motel room.
PlayerTeam got ready, and headed to the White Hill Club. They were brought up to the club proper by the security detail there, and let into the lodge.
There they saw the girls they had met the previous night, and talked to them some. Some members of PlayerTeam got themselves breakfast, before they headed over to an area marked as an archery station. They all shot some arrows, and when they went outside to the targets to retrieve them, Lief and Martin snuck off. Jack and Mercedes went and distracted the guy manning the station.
Martin flew to the top of a tree and began taking down licence plate numbers, as well as just generally watching the going ons of the property. Lief broke into the barracks, and was immediately caught and escorted to an interview room by a guard. There, he managed to convince them that he was just overzealous to their cause. The guard told him to go back to the lodge, but did not escort him, so he went to break into another building. Martin joined him, and they broke into [Baron Madox]'s office.
They searched the place, and found a ton of paperwork, including a letter to Madox from Jordan Singer on stationary from some organization called "The Brotherhood of Crimson." The letter concludes with a post script saying that "J., L., P., and E. are all doing well."
Martin flew all the documents back to their motel room. Lief went to go break into another building.
Meanwhile, Jack and Mercedes were chilling. Jack was listening into radio communication with his powers. As Martin reentered the area, he heard them dispatch guards to him, as they were fully capable of tracking someone entering their property.
When the guards reached Martin, they pointed guns at him, and he panicked and stammered, and soon enough convinced them that he was special needs. A special needs super powered teen. They took him to the same cell that they had previously taken Lief.
Lief broke into Madox's cabin, and looked around a bit, and listened to a call Madox was making in the other room. It was about oil prices.
The security detail on the compound began to question some of the adults who might have seen PlayerTeam enter after talking to Martin some, and realizing that he did come in with Lief who they had found suspicious before. They questioned the person doing the archery station about the group, and he said that they had all returned to the lodge as far as he knew.
Jordan Singer approached and spoke to Jack for a moment, as he had been directed to him by someone the two had mutually spoken to before.
Madox entered the room where Lief was, and pulled a pistol on him, and radio'd the club's security detail about it.
A man rushed into the room with Martin, and put a gun to his head, and told him to stop playing with them.
Jack and Mercedes start a food fight in the lodge. While it didn't immediately start when Jack threw some food, Mercedes then punched and broke the nose of one of the girls the boys had flirted with the previous night, and that kicked things off. They rushed outside, and Mercedes prepped to steal one of the vans.
Madox attempted to shoot Lief, but his gun jammed. Martin crushed the gun pointed at his head, and then was shot by the two other guards in the room and passed out.
Jack teleported to Lief to tell him to get to Martin in the other building. Lief blocked the doors to the room, and escaped while Madox attempted to unjam his gun. Jack teleported to the room with Martin, and was shot and instantly brought to being unconscious.
Lief grabbed a bunch of guns and went to the building where Martin was, and engaged in a shootout with 3 guards.
Mercedes snuck into the room with Martin, attempted to fight, and was instantly shot and knocked out.
Once Lief got shot some, he began to use his powers to transfer his damage to the people he was fighting. Eventually, he managed to take them out, after being shot a ton. After that, he rushed to the room with his allies, and healed them, taking on their damage and going down. The lot of them eventually took out those guards, and escaped via the van.
They called Coach Battle as Mercedes speed away from the compound in the van. He gave them directions to get them out of the situation, including contacting the taxi driver they had spoken with the day before. Said cab driver helped them torch the van, and took them to meet with Coach Battle.
Coach Battle gassed the group up some, and said he'd get the papers from the motel room later.
